Digital Archive and Immersive Valorization of the Work of Bartolomeo Gatto.

The Bartolomeo Gatto Foundation (E.T.S.) has launched a project to showcase and catalog the work of Bartolomeo Gatto. Conceived by the Bartolomeo Gatto Foundation, the project is funded through resources from the European Union (European Regional Development Fund), the Italian State, and the Campania Region, under the public call for support for the development of cultural and creative enterprises (Category A) of the PR Campania ERDF 2021-2027 program.

The aim is to preserve, catalog, and disseminate the artistic legacy of Bartolomeo Gatto (1938–2021) through two lines of action:

•           digitization of the archive: restoration and framing of artworks, a professional photography setup, cataloging software compliant with ICCD/ISAD standards, museum-grade furnishings, and climate control for storage areas;

•           creation of an immersive experience based on virtual reality and artificial intelligence, featuring a 3D avatar of the artist capable of interacting with visitors.

A structured, searchable digital archive of artworks, documents, and photographs; a virtual environment showcasing a selection of 20 works—including five 3D-modeled sculptures—accessible online and via VR headsets at the Foundation’s headquarters; and enhanced accessibility to the collection for students, scholars, artists, schools, and tourists, accompanied by dedicated cultural and educational events.
